Xishi Cha

Gao & Zhuang, 1989, The Camellia in China, p.49, No.298, colour photo No.172: Medium size, 8-10 cm across. soft pink, peony camellia, with large, crinkled outer petals and a centre of small, folded, erect petals, petaloids and sta­mens. Leaves deep green, elliptic, margins serrate. Blooms mid-season to late. Originated in China.

Xishicha. (Camellia japonica)  Synonym: None  Originate: Sichuan  Characteristics: Plant growth relatively vigorous with open crown Leaves deep green, elliptic, with apex apiculate, base broad obtuse, wavy, measured 6 cm to 7 cm across by 3 cm to 3.5 cm wide, serration deep. Calyxes are opening. Flowers are pink, rounded, imbricated regularly, formal double form, diameter 8 cm, medium floral abundance. Blooms March to April, at fully blooming March.  Key points of identification: Leaves deep green with wavy margins, flowers are pink, formal double form.

西施荼 Camellia japonica ‘Xishi Cha’。张永和等1985《永福茶花》第11页。灌木，主干不明显，灰色，易分枝；枝条柔软均匀，植株形态扩张优美。叶长7-9厘米，宽5-6厘米，椭圆形；先端尖，基部钝圆；叶面深绿色，光滑，微中折；主脉明，侧脉隐；叶多，质薄；叶缘稍有扭曲，锯齿浅；叶柄长0.8-1厘米，泛红。花径7-8厘米，银红色，四轮，16-22片花瓣组成如荷花状，中心一簇黄花蕊。花期：十二月至次年三月。

西施茶 Xishi Cha. 周利主编、2011《川茶品种图鉴》 p.245。传统品种。树势较强，树冠开张；叶深绿色，椭圆形，先端渐尖或短尖，基部宽楔形，叶缘波状，叶长6cm-7cm,宽3cm-3.5cm，叶齿较深；花萼开张，花粉红色，花瓣近圆形，呈覆瓦状排列整齐，完全重辦型，花径8cm,花量中等，花期3月-4月，盛花期3月。识别特征：叶深绿色，叶缘波状，花粉红色，完全重瓣型。原始产地：四川
