Ōzu-amagashita

Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, p.239, colour photo and description: Medium size, deep red with clear white blotches, wide campanulate single with 6 notched, reflexed petals and a central stamen column with whitish filaments, joined for the lower half, and yellow anthers. Leaves deep green, elliptic, recurved, apices acute. Blooms mid-season to late. Originated in the Ehime Prefecture, Japan. Resembles Amagashita.

淡交社.1989年. 《日本の椿花》.ｐ.239　. 愛媛產. [花]濃紅地に白斑の入る一重、筒～ラッパ咲き、筒しべ、中輪、3～4月。天ケ下より花筒が長く優美である。濃紅地にいる白斑は非常に鮮明で、本種の魅力もここにある。[葉]小形で平坦、花の良さを引き立てる。[樹]　　[来歴]品種名は、花の白斑の様子が天ケ下に似ていることによる。文/河野・写真/神園
