Amy Maryott (C. japonica) ACS, Reg. No.2496.  American Camellia Yearbook, 1999, p3, with color photo p.c.1. This medium rose semidouble C. japonica chance seedling (Berenice Boddy x?) blooms early too late. Originated and propagated by Dr. Arthur A. Maryott of Gaithersburg, MD. The 24-year-old seedling first bloomed in 1985. The fragrant flowers, grow 4" wide and 2" deep with 18 crepy petals, yellow anthers, and white filaments. The plant growth is average and the plant is very cold hardy. The medium green leaves are crenated, averaging 4.25" long and 1.5" wide.
