Amy Maryott (C. japonica) ACS, Reg. No.2496. American Camellia Yearbook, 1999, p3, with color photo p.c.1.This medium rose semidouble C. japonica chance seedling (Berenice Boddy x?)blooms early too late. Originated and propagated by Dr. Arthur A. Maryott ofGaithersburg, MD. The 24-year-old seedling first bloomed in 1985. The fragrantflowers, grow 4" wide and 2" deep with 18 crepy petals, yellow anthers,and white filaments. The plant growth is average and the plant is very coldhardy. The medium green leaves are crenated, averaging 4.25" long and1.5" wide.
