Burdin Maggiore & Co., 1856-1857. No description; van Houtte, 1858, Catalogue, 72:5: Flower large double,  bright rose-pink and dusted with streaks of white and red. Mercatelli catalogue, 1881: Flower large, 8 cm in diameter, spirally imbricated form, vivid rose (RHS CC 51A) with 68-75 petals, with darker vein­ing, light, ashy grey white centre, sometimes with faint, white lines. Leaves eliptic to ovate, 8.3 cm long and 4.4 cm wide, shallow serrated, apex acuminate.  Originated in Milan, Italy.
