American Camellia Yearbook, 1960, p.194, Reg. No.468: A sport of Betty Sheffield Blush. Blush pink bordered white with a pinkish sheen. Originated in USA by G.G. Comstock, Texas. Date of application-February 2, 1960. A sport of BE~ SHEFFIELD BLUSH, originated by G. C. Comstock, Beaumont, Texas, and propagated by Thomasville Nurseries, Inc., Thomasville, Georgia, that was first observed in 1957. Plant growth habit is upright, and the dark green leaves average 4 inches in length and 2 inches in width. The Hower is a perfect BETTY SHEFFIELD in every detail except color. The blush pink Howers, 4% inches in diameter and 2 inches in depth, have 18 to 20 petals and 6 to 8 rabbit ears. The Hower has white border and silvery sheen, and it is stated that the Howers are long lasting on bush. Flowering season, December-February.
