Big Jack (C. japonica) ACS, Reg. No.2515. American Camellia Yearbook, 1999, p6, with color photo p.c.2. This pink to deep pink peony to formal double C. japonica (Eyes of March x?) chance seedling, blooms mid-season to late. Originated by Ray Bond of Dallas, TX and propagated by Bond Nursery Corporation of Dallas, TX. The 8-year-old seedling first bloomed in 1999. Flower is 2" wide and .75" deep with 96 petals with fimbriation. Petals may be veined. Plant growth is upright, spreading, open and average with 3.25" long and 1.25" wide dark green leaves.
