Buddy English (C. reticulata) ACS, Reg. No.2448.American Camellia Yearbook, 1998, p1, with color photo in colorinset.1. A very large, deep pink, semidouble C. reticulata (Homeyer #23x 'Jean Pursel'), mid-season to late. Originated by Marvin Jernigan, WarnerRobins, GA and propagated by Markette Nursery, Americus, GA. The 19-year-old seedlingfirst bloomed in 1986. Average size flower, untreated is 6-1/2" wide and3" deep with 30 petals and white anthers and filaments. Average size flowertreated is 7" wide and 3" deep. Plant growth is upright and averagewith leaves measuring 6" long and 2-1/2"wide.
