English Kuhne Drews (C. japonica) ACS, Reg. No.2590. American
Camellia Yearbook, 2003, p62 with color photo p.c.C3. This 20-year-old
C. japonica seedling first bloomed in 1986 and was originated and
propagated by Rupert Drews of Charleston, SC. Plant: The plant is
upright with slow growth rate, blooming early-midseason.
Flowers fall in one piece. Leaf: Light green leaves are 3¼ x 1½ inches.Bloom: This rose
pink and white variegated anemone flower, with 38 petals and 180 petaloids
measures 3½ x 2½ inches
untreated, and 4 x 3 inches treated. Flower has pink anthers and white
filaments and are long lasting. Awarded best seedling at Charleston Show in
January, 2000 and best seedling at Savannah Show in November, 2001.
