Seibundō Shinkōsha, 1979, Senchinshū, p.131, colour photo, p.244, description: Round, almost spherical, soft pink, single with a wide group of about 80 light yellow stamens. Flowers early. Leaves dark green, ovate, small, flat. Origi­nated in the Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, Japan. Named and released by Tokuji Ōoka in 1970s. Fukura-suzume is also the name of a decorative knot for the obi sash for girls.
