GSCT34 (Fuyun 7), Original name: Fuyun 58-7. Clonal variety. Small arbor type. Large leaf size.      Medium sprouting.        It was selected individually from the natural hybrid between Fuding Dabaicha      variety and Yunnan Daye variety by Tea Research Institute, Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1957~1971. Now it was widely cultivated in the tea region of Fujian and also introduced to a limited area in the tea region of Zhejiang, Sichuan, Hunan and Guizhou provinces.

Plant tall and erect in shape. Branches stout and rather sparse branching. Leaves horizontal, length 15.2~16.4 cm, width 5.5~5.9 cm. Oblong or long-oblong in shape, with acuminate tips. Leaves smooth and flat with neat margin, yellowish green in color and glossy. 10~11 pairs of vein. Rough serrations. Rather thick and soft in texture. The sprouting period in spring season in the Fuan county (Fujian province) appears in the first ten days of March. The plucking period of one bud and three      leaves shoots stage appears in the Vtst to second ten days of April. Shoots stout, yellowish green in color with profuse hairs. Rather sparse sprouting density and higher growth rate. The weight of 100 one bud and three leaves Shoots averaged 95 g. The peak period of flowering stage appears in the first ten days to the third ten days of November. With moderate amounts of flowers and high bearing percentage. Higher cold-hardiness and resistance to drought. Wider adaptability. Potent rooting ability during cutting propagation.                         

High-yielding. According to the results of comparative experiments, the yield of made tea of 4~8 years old tea plants averaged 216.6kg per mu, and 42 .7% higher than that of Fuding Dabaicha. The yield of 7 years old tea plant averaged 374.8 kg per mu.                                    

Suitable for the manufacture of black tea and green tea. The Gongfu black tea prepared with GSCT34 variety as the raw material is characterized by its stout leaf with obvious fine harirs, bloom color, full taste with characteristic of “Dianhong” as well as the dark reddish liquor. The roasted green tea prepared with this variety is characterized by its tight and stout leaf with silvery fine hairs as well as yellowish  green and clear liquor. The jasmine tea prepared with GSCT34(Fuyun Maojion) shows superb quality and appearance.

Suitable to popularize in the tea region in the south-of-Yangzte River for the manufacture of black tea and green tea. Owing to the erect habitat of tea plant, it is recommended to reduce the row spacing, increase the times of format pruning. Besides, it is important to pluck in time due to the shoots is stout in size and with high growth rate.

【产地与分布】由福建省农业科学院茶叶研究所于1957~1971年从福鼎大白茶与云南大叶茶自然杂交后代中采用单株育种法育成。福建茶区有较大面积栽培。湖南、浙江、贵州、四川等省有引种。1987年通过全国农作物品种审定委员会认定,编号GS13034-1987。

【形态特征】 植株高大,树姿较直立,主干明显,分枝较密。叶片呈水平状着生,长椭圆或椭圆形,叶色黄緑,富光泽,叶面平或微隆起,叶身平,叶缘平,叶尖渐尖,叶齿较钝深密,叶质较厚软。花冠直径3.3〜4.3cm,花辦6瓣,子房鸾毛多,花柱3裂。

【特性】 春季萌发期早,2010年和2011年在福建福安社口观测,一芽二叶初展期分別出现于3月27日和4月5日。芽叶生育カ强,发芽较密,持嫩性强,黄緑色,茸毛多,一芽三叶百芽重95.0g。2010年、2011年在福建福安社口取样,春茶一芽二叶含茶多酚13.6%、氨基酸4.0%、咖啡碱4.1%、水浸出物48.9%。产量高,每667m2可产干茶200〜300kg。适制红茶、緑茶、白茶。制工夫红茶,条索肥壮,色泽乌润显毫,香高味浓;制烘青绿茶,条索肥壮,色黄绿,白毫多,香高长,味醇厚,是窨制花茶的优质原料;制白茶,芽壮,毫多,香清爽,味醇和。抗寒、旱能力较强。扦插繁殖力强,成活率较高。

【适栽地区】江南茶区。

【栽培要点】选择土层深厚的园地种植,増加种植密度。适时定剪3~4次,促进分枝,提高发芽密度。及时嫩采。
