Gaoshi Jiazuo

 Gaoshi Jiazuo (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiari Diexing'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.391. HAR-23-2., a cross seedling (DDX-No.2) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiari Diexing'. Flowers exterior petals white with pale pink hue, the central petals pale orange red with white stripes, rose-double form, medium to large size, 8.0-11.5cm across and 5.0cm deep with 12-15 exterior large petals arranged in 2 rows, 15-18 central petals arranged orderly in 2-3 rows, occasionally a few stamens visible. Leaves dark green, leathery, broad elliptic, cuneate at the base, margins smooth. Plant compact and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from early-summer, fully blooms in autumn and winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Mr Gao's Excellent Masterpiece”.
