American Camellia Yearbook, 1986, p.92, Reg. No.1998: A large to very large, dark pink, shaded to pale pink, semi-double, C.japonica chance seedling, flowering mid­season. Originated by Virginia E. Majette, Pensacola, Florida, USA. The 10 year old seedling first flowered 1981. Average flower size, 11 cm across x 6 cm deep with 27 petals, 7 petaloids, yellow anthers and pink filaments. Plant growth is average with dark green leaves 8 cm x 5 cm.
