ACS., Newsletter, 1949, vol.4, No.3, Reg. No.12: A seedling of unknown parentage that first flowered 1942 at McCaskill Gardens, Pasadena, California, USA. Plant growth is average, upright and compact. Flower buds are long and blunt, light green in colour and petals extend weeks before blooming. Leaves are elliptic, 7.5 cm long, acute and slightly serrate. Flowers are incomplete double with large petaloids which are more or less erect, 8-10.5 cm across, with an average of 26 petals. Blooms early to late season.
