American Camellia Yearbook, 1954, p.330, Reg. No.205: A 13 year old chance seeding, originated by Filo H. Turner, Pensacola, Florida, USA, that flowered for the first time, 1949. Plant growth upright and rapid with dark green oval, tapering cuspidate and slightly serrate leaves. Flowers semi-double in form, 10-12.5 cm across, variable with a few small and/or large petaloids and a cluster of yellow stamens. Colour bright red. Flowers mid­season.
