Rosea Splendida

Berlèse, 1848, Monographie, ed.2, pp.142-143, 230: Leaves 8 cm x 5 cm, some oval, rounded, others elongated, tips a little recurved, prominent venation and serration; buds oval, rounded, scales pale green; flowers 9 cm across, double, clear cherry-red; exterior petals large, almost round, several rows imbricated and deeper coloured than the others; those in the centre, short, twisted, of a small number with 3-4 petaloids. Originated at the Vauxhall Nurseries, London, England.
