Anderson’s Camellia Catalogue, 1967, p.8: Spinel pink, very large, semi-double. New Zealand Camellia Bulletin, 1967, vol.V, No.3, p.10, Reg. No.38: A hand pollenated cross C.saluenensis x C.reticulata Buddha; originated by H.J.Clark, New Lynn, New Zealand that first bloomed 1963. Habit is upright with dark green leaves, 10 cm x 2.5cm.
