ACS, The Camellia Journal, Sept. 2013, p.26 with colour photo; Regn No.2855; Originated by Dr Dennis Rouse, Auburn, Ala., USA. ACS, Yearbook, 2013, p.137 with colour photo; Registered by the Auburn-Opelika Men’s Camellia Club. The 30-plus year old seedlingis a large to very large, 12.7cm diameter x 6.5cm deep flower, semidouble, red (RHSCC 46B), with 18 petals. Heavy petal texture and falls in one piece. Yellow anthers, filaments white with red base. Plant is upright, spreading and open with average growth rate. Mid-green leaves average 10cm x 5cm with low serration. Flowers late.
