Sam Wellborn (Camellia reticulata hybrid) ACS Registration #3087. This 10-year-old C. reticulata hybrid chance seedling of ‘Frank Houser’ first bloomed in 2010. It was originated, registered and propagated by James Smelley of Moss Point, Mississippi. Bloom: The very large sized 12.7cm x 3.81cm semidouble to rose form double form flower is pink. It has gold anthers and white filaments.This profuse bloomer falls in one piece, is long lasting, has heavy petal texture, and consistent form. Plant: The plant habit is upright and dense. The growth rate is vigorous. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition uses. Leaf: The medium green leaves average 9.52 cm x 4.44 cm with medium serration. Bloom season: Early to late.
