Xingguang Canlan

Xingguang Canlan (C. subintegra × C. azalea). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.99. HA-27-5., a cross seedling (QYD-No.49) of C. subintegra × C. azalea. Flowers light red to red with a lot of tiny white dots on the top part of petal surfaces, single form, medium to large size, 8.5-11.0cm across with 6 petals, petals broad obovate, stamens united at the base, bloom very dense. Leaves normal green, heavy leathery, narrowly and long elliptic, slightly twisted or wavy, margins smooth with a faint yellow border. Plant compact, branches dense, bushy and growth normal. Starts to bloom from early-autumn, fully blooms from late-autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Starlit Splendid”.

星光灿烂 Camellia ‘Xingguang Canlan’ 。刘信凯、钟乃盛、柯欢、武艳芳主编，2023，《第二部四季茶花杂交新品种彩色图集》，浙江科学技术出版社，第99页。 HA-27-5.杂交组合：全缘红山茶× 杜鹃红山茶，杂交苗编号：QYD-No.49。花朵淡红色至红色，瓣面上部具许多白色小斑点，单瓣型，中型至大型花，花径8.5-11.0cm，花瓣6枚，花瓣阔倒卵形，雄蕊基部连生，开花极稠密。叶片中等绿色，叶背面灰绿色，厚革质，狭长椭圆形，长8.5-10.5cm,宽3.0-3.5cm，略扭曲或波浪状，边缘光滑，具隐约黄边。植株紧凑，枝叶稠密，灌丛状，生长中等。秋初始花，秋末至冬季盛花，春季零星开花。
