Ailao Mingzhu

Ailao Mingzhu (C. reticulata). China Regn. #2021-332. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2021, No.6, p.50. Originated and registered by Lan Chengxin from Kungang Village, Dajie Township, Jingdong County, Yunnan Province. A chance seedling of ‘Ailaohong’, collected seeds in 2009 and firstly bloomed in 2017. Flowers red, rose form to fully double form,  diameter10-11 cm, petals 45-52 in 5-8 whorls, gradually smaller from the outside to the inside, obovate, apex concave, with petaloids , occasionally a few stamen remain in the flower center, pistil flattened and degenerate. Leaves oval, 8.5-12 cm long and 5-7 cm wide, apex acuminate,  base is wide cuneate to round, margin serrate and blade flat. Flowering from January to February.

哀牢明珠Camellia  reticulata ‘Ailao Mingzhu’ 中国登录号：2021-332，《中国花卉园艺》2021年第6期50页。由云南省景东县大街乡昆岗村的兰成新培育并登录。从云南山茶品种‘哀牢红’种子实生苗中选育，2009年播种，2017年初花。花红色，玫瑰型至完全重瓣型，花径10～11厘米，花瓣数45～52枚，5～8轮着生，由外向内渐小，花瓣倒卵形，先端凹缺，雄蕊瓣化为花瓣，偶有少数几枚残留于花心，雌蕊扁平状退化，不结实。叶宽椭圆形，长8.5～12厘米，宽5～7厘米，先端渐尖，基部宽楔形至圆形，叶缘锯齿细，叶身平。花期1月～2月。
