Baiban Yulinjia

Baiban Yulinjia. (C. japonica). Zhou Li, 2011, Illustrated Handbook for Sichuan Camellias, p.204. Origin: Sichuan  Characteristics: Bud mutant originated from variety ‘Yulinjia’. Plant growth vigorous with opening crown. Leaves deep green with occasional yellow strips, elliptic, with apex apiculate, base broad cuneate, flat, glossy, measuring 5.5 cm to 6.5 cm across by 3 cm to 3.5 cm wide, serration shallow and sparse. Flowers deep red. Petals, with white spots, 80 segments imbricated regularly. Outer Petals deep red at a couple o f rows, inner ones light red, with margins reflexed, floral center sometimes not fully opening. Diameter 9 cm to 11 cm, formal double form, medium floral abundance. Blooms February to April, blooming in March.  Key points of identification: Very similar with variety ‘Yulinjia’， except petals with white spots.

周利，2011. 《川茶花品种图鉴》，p.204. 鱼鱗甲的芽变品种，性状与鱼鱗甲相似，唯花瓣上有大量白斑。植株开张，生长旺盛；深绿色叶片上有少量黄色斑块，叶椭圆形，先端短尖，甚部宽楔形，叶片平展，有光泽，叶长5.5cm~6.5cm,宽3cm〜3.5cm，叶齿浅稀；花深红色，花瓣上有白色斑块，呈覆瓦状排列整齐，外数轮花瓣颜色深红，内层花瓣颜色较淡，花瓣边缘略反卷，花瓣80枚，花心部有时不完全开放，花径9mc~11cm，完全重瓣型，花量中等，花期2月~4月，盛花期3月。原产地：四川。
