Carmeliña de Lomba (C. japonica). Published in Camelia, Sociedad Española de la Camelia, No. 40-41, 2022, p.67, with color photos. International Camellia Journal, 2023, No. 55,p.49. Originated from seeds of C. japonica by Ramón Somoza Barros 50 years ago in a private garden in A Lomba (Redondela, Pontevedra, Spain). Registered by the Estación Fitopatolóxica Areeiro (Deputación de Pontevedra, Pontevedra, Spain) in 2023. FLOWER: small size, 5-7.5 cm in diameter and 4-4.5 cm depth; peony form; it has two kind of flowers, one of them are light pink 55D (RHSCC) with darker stripes 55B, and the other ones are homogeneous pink flowers 57D; 15-20 petals, rounded or elliptical, with incise, waved or cordate margin; 50 to 90 petaloids white and pink in color. LEAVES: 7-10 cm length and 4-6.5 cm width, medium green, elliptic, lightly dentate margin and serrate in the apex, and pointed or acute apex. PLANT: shrub with fast, dense and semi-open growth habit. Very early and long blooming period, from July to May. Other data: it was named to honour the owner’s granddaughter (Carmeliña) and the place where the plant is growing (Lomba).

卡梅利尼亚德隆巴(Camellia japonica ‘Carmeliña de Lomba’)。《国际山茶会志》2023年第55期49页。植株:灌木,生长快速,株型密集和紧凑。花: 牡丹型,有深粉红色和浅粉色两种颜色,花径5-7.5厘米,有15至20片圆形花瓣,边缘呈切口状、线状或波浪形,中间有50-90片白色或粉红色的无序排列的小花瓣。 叶: 中等大小,椭圆形,中等绿色。开花期较早且非常持久,从夏季、7月下旬或8月初开始,一直持续到次年5月。 来源: 该品种源于50年前拉蒙·索摩萨·巴罗斯( Ramón Somoza Barros)在西班牙庞特韦德拉雷东德拉的一个私人花园中种植的山茶种子。它的名字是为了纪念主人的孙女( Carmeliña)和植物生长的地方( Lomba)。
