American Camellia Yearbook, 1955, p.336, Reg. No.224: A 4 year old chance seedling originated by Mrs Earl P. Seay, South Carolina, USA. First flowered 1953. The leaves are large, oval, dark green. Flower buds are round. The rose-red flowers, 9-10 cm across, are incomplete double with mixed petaloids, similar to Nobilissima with 90-125 petals. Flow­ering season early.
