No.1599; American Camellia Yearbook, 1980, p167: A large, rose coloured, semi-double C.reticulata hybrid (‘Crimson Robe’ (Dataohong) x [Arch of Triumph x No.5]), mid-season flowering; originated by Frank Pursel, Oakland, California, USA. The 5 year old seedling first bloomed 1978. Average flower size, 15 cm across x 7.5 cm deep. The flower has yellow anthers. Plant growth is upright, dense and rapid in rate with dark green leaves.
