Wuling Cha

China Camellia Regn No. 2019-280. Published in China Flowers & Horticulture, 2019, No.10, p.51 with a colour photo. This cultivar was bred and registered by You Jintang of  Changsha City, Hunan Province. A hybrid of 'Jinpan Lizhi' X 'Valley Knudsen' . The hybrid seeds were colected in 2012, and firstly flower in 2016. Flowers light purple-red, semi-double, large, 12.0～12.5 cm in diameter, 17 large outer petals, arranged in 3 to 4 rows, slightly wrinkled with small wavy edges, slightly connect with stamen at the base, Filaments light red with yellow anthers. Leaves dark green, bright,  thick,  with obvious midrib. Plant upright, compact and growing vigorously. Flowering from December to the end of February the following year.

武陵茶 'Wuling Cha' 中国茶花登录号：2019-280。《中国花卉园艺》2019年第10期51页。本品种由湖南长沙市雨花区锦棠苗圃游锦棠培育并登录，系由红山茶（C.japonica）‘金盘荔枝’X 云南山茶（C.reticulata）‘娃丽娜深’（Valley Knudsen）杂交组合获得。2012年杂交获得种子播种，2016年首次开花。花朵浅紫红色，半重瓣型，大型花，花径12.0～12.5 cm，外部大花瓣17枚左右，呈3～4轮排列，花瓣略皱褶，边缘小波浪状，雄蕊基部略连生，花丝淡红色，花药黄色。叶片深绿色，光亮，厚革质，叶面略粗糙，中脉明显，边缘叶齿尖密。植株立性，紧凑，生长旺盛。花期12月至翌年2月底。
