» English Description

Paxton’s, 1837, Magazine of Botany, vol.3, p.118, invalidly as ‘Anemoniflora’: It is a hybrid produced between ‘Red Waratah’, (Anemoniflora) and ‘Pomponia’ or ‘Kew Blush’, it partakes of the free growth and ample foliage of the ‘Waratah’ and the form of the flowers, but the centre is much improved by partaking of the delicacy of ‘Pomponia’ (Pompone). The centre is lighter than the surrounding petals and partially mottled with a salmon colour. It was raised by James Dickson, Acre Lane, Chatham, England.
