Hua Gemingqi

Hua Gemingqi. (C. japonica) . Zhou Li, 2011, Illustrated Handbook for Sichuan Camellias, p. 72.  Bud mutant derived from variety ‘Gemingqi’. Very similar to variety Gemingqi, in characteristics, but color brilliantly red, occasionally with white irregular stripes on petals, semi-double. Leaves, sometimes with yellowish spots. Flowering January to April, blooming in March.  Key points of identification: Very similar to variety ‘Gemingqi’, but with white stripes on petals, and occasionally with yellowish spots on leaves.
