Hua Hongyang

Hua Hongyang. (C. japonica) . Zhou Li, 2011, Illustrated Handbook for Sichuan Camellias, p.212.  Sport of  ‘Zao Hongyang’. Very similar to variety ‘Zao Hongyang’ in characteristics, but irregular white stripes on petals, light red, variegated by petals with mixed colour, petal edge without obvious notches, diameter 8 cm to 10 cm, medium floral abundance, formal double form. Flowering January to March, at fully blooming in March.  Key points of identification: A sport of  'Zao Hongyang', light red with irregular white blotches at petals, with petal margins without obvious notches. Origin: Sichuan.
