Natsu-midori. (C. sinensis). Registered in 1954. Selected from original Japanese tea. Use for Japanese green tea. Kanaya.

[Characteristics] The leaf color of summer tea is green, and the quality of the second and third teas is less deteriorated.

[Fosterer] Tea Industry Experiment Station, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (currently the Vegetable and Tea Research Institute, National Agriculture and Food Research Organization)

[Origin] In 1920, it was selected from the seedling tea garden of the native species of Shizuoka at the Tea Industry Experiment Station of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. A qualification test of various characteristics was carried out using the system name of national tea S41, and in 1944 it was recognized as excellent. In 1954, it was registered as Tea Norin 16 and was named'Natsu Midori'.

[Earlyness] Somewhat early. The germination period is about 4 days earlier than'Yabukita' and the plucking period is about 2 to 3 days earlier.

【特徴】夏茶の葉色が緑色で,二、三番茶の品質低下が少ないやや早生種。

育成者】農林省茶業試験場(現農業食晶産業技術総合研究機構野菜茶業研究所)

【来歴】1920年に農林省茶業試験場の静岡在来種の実生茶園から選抜された。国茶S41の系統名で諸特性の検定試験が行なわれ,1944年に優秀性が認められた。1954年に茶農林16号に登録され,‘なつみどりと命名された。

【早晚性】やや早生。萌芽期はやぶきたよりも4日程度早ぐ摘採期は23日程度早い。

【形態的特性】樹姿は中間型。樹勢は中で株張りも中程度。摘採期の茶芽の揃いは良い。芽数は中,百芽重も中程度である0

【挿し木発根性】やぶきたよりもやや劣る。

【初期生育の良否】初期生育がやや劣るので,幼木期の肥培管理に注意する。

【幼木の仕立て法】やぶきたに準ずる。

【収量性】収量はやぶきだよりも少なぐ中程度。

【品質】煎茶品質は中。形状は細よれで,色沢も鮮

緑色で良い。内質は香気,水色,滋味とも大きな欠点はない。

【耐寒性】冬期の耐寒性はやや強,裂傷型凍害には中。

【耐病虫性】炭疽病に中,輪斑病に弱である。
