SCCS., 1958, Camellia Nomenclature, p.72. Sport of Dr John D. Bell - White. Large formal double of tiered form. Originated in USA by Woodland. From the 1968 edition and on, no mention is made of R.L. Brent in Camellia Nomenclature. It is most unlikely that it could be a sport of Dr John D. Bell which is a variegated form of Beau Harp - dark red variegated white, large peony form. The name was later invalidly used for a C.reticulata hybrid.
