American Camellia Yearbook, 1962-1963, p.224, Reg. No.650: A chance seedling that first bloomed 1951. Originated by Wheeler’s Central Georgia Nursery, Macon, Georgia, USA. Plant growth is average with very dark green leaves, large pointed. New growth red. The complete, formal double flowers are 9-11 cm across with 78 petals. Colour is rose-pink to red. Petals half folded and pointed, open to a 6 point star-shape. Blooms early to late. Sport: Red Cap Variegated.
