Ruby Anniversary

New Zealand Camellia Bulletin, March 1997, Issue No.126, vol.XX, No.1, p.20, Reg. No. 382. Registered by R.M. Young, Marton, New Zealand. A 16 year old chance seedling which first bloomed about 1986. A medium to large formal double, 9 cm in diameter with 60 – 65 petals. Flower colour is ruby red with darker veining (RHS.CC.53C- 59C), and the outer petals have a bold white stripe down the middle. The plant is upright and of medium density and growth rate, with leaves 8 cm long x 4 cm wide. Flowers mid-season to late.
