Sericea Striata

Verschaffelt, 1850, Iconographie, Book VII, pl.1: It was obtained from seed in Italy. It is a perfection with imbricated petals, red with distinct white stripes, either single or sometimes double, which separate the petals into two distinct parts. Franchetti, 1855, Collezione di Camelie, p.57: Deep pink bordered white, sometimes self-carmine. The flower resembles Nassiniana. Orthographic error: ‘Cericea Striata’.
