Adachi, 1960, Camellia. Its Appreciation and Artistic Arrangement, p.60, Colour photo: Medium size, bright red Higo form with 6-7 large, creped and fluted outer petals, surrounding a flared burst of 170 stamens with light yellow filaments. Early to mid-season blooms. There is also a C.japonica cultivar of the same name. Originated in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.
