[Origin] In 1939, it was selected from the Uji Native Tea Garden, which was about 100 years old, and after being subjected to a candidate primary tree performance comparison test (strain comparison test), it was registered as a forest in 1954. The old strain name is "Kyoken 172".
[Early drowsiness] A mesozoic species that has a germination period that is about 7 days earlier than'Yabukita' and a plucking period that is about 2 days earlier.
[Morphological characteristics] The tree is extremely upright, the tree vigor is medium, and the stock is a little small. The most sprouted tea shoots are rather small, the leaf color is green, and the leaf quality is good. When shaded, the leaf color is dark green and rich in luster. The leaf edge is slightly wavy in the adult leaf, and the leaf veins are slightly bent inward with the vein as the center line. The branches have slightly short internodes and are slightly thick.

【挿し木発根性】中であるが,夏季の再生力に個体差が見られ,新芽の伸長は不揃いの傾向がある。
