Jixin Yinhong

Zhou Li, 2011, Illustrated Handbook for Sichuan Camellias, p.114.  Plant habit vigorous, open, medium branching. Leaves green, twisted, margins reflexed, with apex apiculate and reflexed, base obtuse, measured 7.5 cm to 9 cm across by 4 cm to 5 cm wide, serrate shallowly and sparsely. Sepals open. Flowers pink. Petals rounded, heavy texture, with irregular notched margins. Outer petals slightly reflexed, central petals not fully opening as cordate shape, 62 segments, diameter 6 cm to 7 cm wide, formal double form, medium floral abundance. Flowers January to April, with fully blooming in March.  Key points of identification: Small flower, pink, central petals as cordate while not fully opening. Origin: Sichuan   Synonyms: 'Fanzhouye’, ‘Zhouye yinhong’
